Caitlin Kelly’s Secrets for Staying Grounded

Caitlin Kelly knows that positivity never goes out of style. As the CEO of Caitlin Kelly Agency, she helps fashion and lifestyle brands grow and stay on top of trends. While her industry is fast changing, Caitlin stays grounded by starting every day with meditation and positive intentions, whether she’s at home in Miami Beach or Manhattan. And she gives her day a midday positivity reboot by hopping on her Bluejay Bike.

To mark Women’s History Month, we talked to women who inspired us with their impact, including Caitlin. Below she shares more about her everyday life — including how her Bluejay Bike fits into it.

What does a day in your life look like?

My weekday mornings begin before 7 am. I really try to have a quick but very impactful morning routine that involves journaling, setting positive intentions, affirmations, and a short meditation. I’ve found this is super important in setting up my day and absolutely worth taking the time.

But I also have two little kids, and many times these little guys throw off my zen morning. If that’s the case, I’ll zip to the living room where the race to get the kids off to school begins. After school drop offs, I’ll always do a workout class or go for a long walk.

Then my workday begins and usually involves a handful of calls with clients, partners, editors and more, planning, brainstorming and pitching. I’ll have lunch out maybe 1-2 times a week for an event or a meeting. We have the best restaurants in Miami, and I’ll always get a super healthy salad with grilled shrimp or fish.

Around 4:30 pm I need some energy and a change of pace — and this is when I love taking out my Bluejay! It’s very therapeutic to get on the bike and just speed around gorgeous Miami. I’ll ride to a cafe and get a decaf iced tea or run a quick errand. Sometimes, I won't even go anywhere and just cruise around the beach. It’s that time of day when you want to eat chocolate…but just hop on your bike instead! I promise it does wonders.

Then I’m spending the night with my kids and watching a movie with them before their bedtime. About 1-2 times a week, my husband and I will go out to dinners, but I really love staying home and reading. Rinse and repeat for the next day.

What gets you out of bed each morning?

Iced matcha!

What are you most proud of?

My ability to work hard, but also find joy every day. I’ve worked so hard for almost 20 years for this and I’m endlessly grateful for my incredible clients and relationships.

What’s the one thing you cannot live without?

Meditation, exercise, quiet moments. I think that all falls under one category of “mental peace” but I find that even a few minutes a day of any of those things makes a huge difference in my mood and also my efficiency.

What do you love most about your Bluejay Bike?

It gives me that carefree feeling that I had as a kid. Plus, it takes the “chore” out of running errands. I look forward to hopping on the bike.

How does your Bluejay make you feel?

FREE and connected to the earth. I love the feeling of the wind blowing and listening to the leaves of the trees, the birds. Riding my Bluejay really grounds me and revitalizes my day.

What’s your favorite outfit for riding your Bluejay?

Always workout clothes with long sleeves. We are in Miami, so I need to cover up, the sun here is no joke. Sometimes I even wear sun protection gloves lol. I also always wear a big visor or baseball hat and sunglasses. Sun protection…but make it fashion. Right?
