Congratulations on your new Bluejay bike! Follow these step-by-step assembly
instructions, and if you have any questions, refer to the manufacturer’s manual or
contact Bluejay customer support

Phone: 888-654-9913

Tools Needed:

  • Allen wrenches (included)
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Tire pump
  • Grease (optional)

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect Parts

Carefully remove all parts from the box and check to make sure everything is included.
If the box does not arrive in perfect condition, please take photos and send them to
support@bluejaybikes.com.

Included parts:

  •  Semi-assembled bike
  • Charger
  • Handlebars
  • Front wheel
  • Seat and seat post
  • Seat Clamp
  • Pedals
  • Quick-release skewer
  • Front Headlight
  • 1 socket button screw, 1 washer

Step 2: Attach the Handlebars

1. Loosen the bolts on the stem faceplate using an Allen wrench.
2. Position the handlebars in place, ensuring they are centered and angled to your
preference. The screen should be facing you on the left-hand side of the
handlebars.
3. Tighten the bolts evenly to secure the handlebars.

Step 3: Install the Front Wheel

1. Insert the quick release through the wheel hub.
2. Position the wheel into the front fork dropouts.
3. Tighten the quick-release lever or axle nuts securely.

Step 4: Attach the Seat and Seat Post
1. Put the seat post clamp onto the bike frame. Then, apply grease to the seat post
and insert it into the frame’s seat tube.
2. Adjust to the desired height.
3. Tighten the seat post clamp securely with an Allen wrench.

Step 5: Install the Pedals
1. Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals.
2. Thread the right pedal counterclockwise into the right crank arm and tighten with
a wrench.
3. Thread the left pedal counterclockwise into the left crank arm and tighten.

Step 6: Adjust Brakes and Gears

1. Ensure the brake pads align with the rims or disc rotors.
2. Please make sure the brakes are not overly rubbing. Some rubbing is normal
since the brakes are hydraulic and need to be broken in.
3. If the brakes are rubbing too much, please gently release tension on the two
Allens attached to the brake on the fork, press down hard on the front brake, and
tighten the Allen bolts into place while still holding the brake. Release the lever
once you finish tightening.
4. Shift through the gears to verify smooth operation. Make minor adjustments
using the barrel adjuster if necessary.

Step 7 : Attach Front Headlight

1. The front headlight will be mounted to the back middle of the front suspension
fork using a single bolt and washer.
2. The washer and bolt will go through the bottom metal bracket on the headlight
and screw into the empty hole. The reflector should be in front of the fork.
3. Plug in the headlight to the loose wire by the handlebars.
4. From there adjust the headlight up or down to your preference.

Step 8: Inflate the Tires
1. The recommended PSI is 45.
2. Inflate both tires accordingly using a tire pump.

Step 9: Final Safety Check

  • Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.
  • Check that the handlebars, seat, and wheels are firmly in place.
  • Test the brakes and gears before your first ride.

Enjoy your new Bluejay! Ride safely and have fun.
